How to Use “Misadi” to Select Your Lift and Generate an Engineering Drawing in Minutes
A step-by-step guide explaining how to use the free Misadi tool from MTVT to select the right IMEM lift for your project and obtain a ready preliminary engineering drawing.

"Misadi" is a smart tool that helps contractors, engineers and building owners select the most suitable lift from the Spanish IMEM catalogue, then produce a professional preliminary engineering drawing with all dimensions — in three simple steps, with no prior elevator expertise required.
What Does Misadi Offer?
Before you start, here is what you will get when using the tool:
Smart Recommendation
Ranks the most suitable IMEM models for your actual need — not a random list.
Standards Compliance
Clearly identifies lifts compliant with EN 81-70 for persons with disabilities.
Preliminary Drawing
Floor plan and vertical section with all dimensions, branded, ready to download and share.
Two Workflows
Supports both cases: a building not yet built, and an existing building with a defined shaft.
The Basic Steps
1
Define Your Need (Smart Wizard)
Answer simple questions by clicking options: usage type (passengers or goods), building type, shaft status, required capacity, building height, speed, and any special priority. Each question has a "?" icon explaining the term in plain language.
2
Enter Project Details
Enter the client and project name, number of stops, floor-to-floor height, door position and door type. If the shaft already exists, enter its actual dimensions (width, depth, pit, headroom) to see only compatible solutions.
3
View Solutions and Choose
The tool displays a ranked list of the best models, with an accessibility compliance badge. Select the right solution to see its full details.
4
Generate the Drawing and Share
The preliminary drawing is generated automatically (floor plan + vertical section + spec table + legend), in your chosen interface language. Download it as a high-quality image or share directly via WhatsApp.
Professional note: Door position is a required field because it determines where the doors open in the drawing (single, opposite, or angled). Choosing it accurately ensures a drawing that matches reality.
Example 1: Building Not Yet Built
In this case you are in the design phase and want to know the standard dimensions to build the shaft around.
📐Scenario: New 6-storey Residential Building
In the wizard: select Passengers ← Residential ← Shaft not yet built.
Door position: Single (0°) ← Door type: Automatic.
Press “Show Solutions” ← select recommended model ← generate drawing.
Result: The tool shows the manufacturer's standard dimensions to build the shaft around — e.g. car 1100×1400 mm, shaft 1650×1645 mm, pit 1050 mm — and produces a preliminary drawing the engineer hands to the contractor to build the shaft correctly from the start.
Why this path? Because you are designing the shaft from scratch, it is best to build it around IMEM standard dimensions — ensuring smooth installation and avoiding costly modifications later.
Example 2: Existing Building (Built Shaft)
Here the shaft exists with its dimensions, and you want the largest lift that fits without costly structural work.
🏗️Scenario: Renovation of Commercial Building with Existing Shaft
In the wizard: select Passengers ← Commercial/Offices ← Shaft already built.
Shaft dimension fields appear — enter e.g. width 2000 mm, depth 2400 mm, pit 1300 mm.
Door position: Opposite (180°) ← Door type: Automatic.
Press “Show Solutions”.
Result: Instead of overwhelming you with all small capacities, the tool suggests the largest capacity that fits your shaft (e.g. 1275 kg) and only the next smaller option (e.g. 1000 kg) — a practical solution that makes the best use of the existing shaft space.
Practical benefit: Choosing the “nearest largest capacity” saves structural modification costs and gives you the largest possible car inside the existing shaft.
Tips for Best Results
Read the "?" Icon Explanations
Every question or field has a "?" icon explaining the term in plain language. Use it if you are not an elevator specialist.
Consider Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities
If the lift will serve wheelchairs, select wheelchair access priority; the tool will favour models compliant with EN 81-70 (door opening ≥ 800 mm).
Switch Language to Match Your Audience
The tool supports Arabic and English, and the drawing is produced in the selected interface language — choose what suits your client or recipient.
Notice: The drawing produced by the tool is preliminary and for guidance only, assisting in the design and initial estimation phase. Final dimensions are subject to engineering review and site survey by the MTVT team before execution.
